How to Fund It

Full Account
Following are WisDoc's assumptions about its proposed service

Assumption One

A net site providing a consumer version of a complete up to the minute multi-specialty account of all the major developed world diseases will be highly valued by consumers.

Assumption Two

Consumers going to their doctors with this level of understanding of assured quality information will be taken seriously by their doctor for the first time. It will be apparent to both consumers and doctor that the consumer is in a position to make simple broad judgements about the quality of medical care he/she is receiving.

Assumption Three

Patients' access to this new comprehensive level of consumer information will drive doctors to read the corresponding professional text.

Assumption Four

HMOs and Insurance companies are already investing in Health Information websites ( as recommended by WIM ) to reduce costs and improve the quality of their care. WisDoc will be seen as the premier service for any insurance company to provide to its doctors and consumers.

Revenue Model

For a per capita license fee of just $8pa an HMO has only to make savings of about 0.64% to cover its license costs. Indications from the Blue Cross of Idaho study are that efforts to provide even basic health information to consumers substantially reduce regular visits to doctors and emergency room visits as well.
